Discovery Automotive Team

Kevin Gyoerick has had a passion for vehicles and all things mechanical from a very young age.  Kevin graduated from Red River Community College as a Red Seal Automotive Technician in 1994 while working at a Toyota dealership. The following year, Kevin's interest in entrepreneurial opportunities led him and a business partner to open their first Automotive Repair shop; called Bullet Auto Service (also located at 1688 St. Anne's Road).  In 2001, Bullet Auto Service dissolved as a business but without a break in service, Kevin began operating Discovery Automotive Centre out of the same location.  Discovery Automotive Centre operated out of the "old shop" for 11 more years until 2012 when it moved 50 feet East, into the building it currently operates out of (check out the photos in the photos tab to see the demolition of the original building which revealed the new shop sitting directly behind it!).                  

Kevin takes great pride in the phenomenal customer base he has built over the years; by offering his customers high quality, fair and above all else honest service. Kevin will tell anyone he has the best customers in Winnipeg.  He continues to take advantage of learning opportunities in an ever-changing market and is actively involved in numerous dealer councils, both locally and nationally, along with committees and projects which work to promote the standards offered by automotive technicians and provincial inspection stations.  Professional development courses and new car training updates are taken annually at specialized automotive training centres located in St Louis, Dallas, or Las Vegas.  The opportunity to talk with other shop owners and learn from the best technical trainers in North America means we are prepared to service all of our customers vehicles with confidence.  You will find Kevin is not always present during office hours but has assembled a great staff who are more than capable of providing the great service our customers have come to expect.

Kevin and his family can often be found working in their bee yard, at community centres, rinks, or at outdoor fields watching their ever growing children play sports or ride motocross.
Logan Gyoerick has been the Office Manager for Discovery Automotive Centre since May 2012. Logan is often the first point of contact our customers have when phoning or visiting Discovery Automotive Centre.  Logan is involved in every step a person and their vehicle makes during a visit to Discovery Automotive Centre.  Whether directly with the customer, technician, or parts suppliers, Logan carries herself with a level of professionalism which keeps with the standard of service Discovery Automotive strives to offer their customers. Logan brings a keen motivation to her work at Discovery Automotive Centre, she takes full advantage of learning opportunities and is willing to incorporate new technology and innovations into the services offered to our customers.

​Josh Maisey is a newly registered Red Seal Automotive Technician after completing his apprenticeship with Discovery Automotive since October of 2020.  Josh is our tire, tire pressure monitor, alignment, maintenance, driveline and under-car chassis/fluid person!  Josh participates in all our current training and professional development courses. 
​Josh grew up in the country; playing and teaching curling, hunting, and snowmobiling are his past times.  Josh brings a positive attitude and service industry work ethic into the workplace every day.
​Sheldon Reimer is a friendly, automotive experienced, familiar face at Discovery Automotive.  Sheldon is often the go to guy when a customer needs to explain an issue or take a technician for a road test to duplicate a clunk, squeak, or rattle.  Sheldon diagnoses and repairs engine/transmission issues, warning lights, electrical problems, and all areas of under vehicle driveline, suspension, and alignment faults.  Sheldon participates in all our current training and professional development courses. 
Sheldon's away from work activities include riding motocross, camping, and lots of family time.  Sheldon helps out with our snow clearing and may expand that to friends and customers in the fall of 2025.

Louise Carriere brings many years of automotive experience to our front office.  As previous office manager at other body shops and automotive repair shops, her everyday knowledge, parts contacts, professionalism, and pleasant presence makes her an invaluable customer service person.  In the ever changing automotive world Louise keeps herself up to date and eager to accept new challenges with a very positive attitude.
Away from work Louise is excited to have a new grandbaby and wedding plans in her life!​
Ken Armistead joined Discovery Automotive Centre in July 0f 2024.  Ken brings 25+ years of experience including Honda factory courses, air conditioning certified,  MPI provincial inspection certificate certified, Red Seal Interprovincial Automotive Technician certificate.  Steering, suspension, electrical, computer controlled diagnostics, maintenance items,  along with internal motor repairs/replacements are just a few of his talents.  Ken attends almost every training course we are offered.
Ken is heavily involved in his kids lifes/sports, let's professional sports teams dictate his mood, gets to as many Jets games as he can, and enjoys evenings in his garage at home.
